I'm not in much a mood to write a lot today. I am getting a little tired of typing and typing on the computer. I'm also feeling quite tired after a long day at school.
If I do not feel that tired tomorrow, I will try to write on today and tomorrow. In the meantime, I think I would prefer to get into the comfort of my bed.
Special thanks to all those who turned up today. I really appreciate your presence and your vote. The results will only be out sometime in August so I'll let you know the results when it comes out.
I guess I'd better stop here and start rushing my homework.
Tomorrow will be the day for the voting. I really hope that all of you can find some time to come down to Tampines interchange to support me. Even if you still have lots of holiday homework that is not done, you should still come down because teachers do not normally collect holiday homework or mark them seriously. You would be wasting your efforts if you sacrifice so much just to complete the holiday homework.
Anyway, I still have the whole of my Social Studies holiday homework, music homework, three-quarters of my elementary mathematics homework and some of my additional mathematics homework undone. I don't think I will make any effort to complete them since it would be impossible to complete everything. The social studies homework will even be graded as a test for next term.
Please do come down tomorrow. Thank you.
The registration queue was not too long and the wait was just fine but when I got the queue number for taking the X-ray, even though there were only 5 more people to go before me, the wait was long. Another thing was that they did not have my folder of all my past X-rays I have taken. Someone even complained that his queue number was skipped as the LED indicator jumped from 14 to 17.
I was relieved when a nurse took me and some other patients to another room for X-ray because of the long queue but to my dismay, I waited more than 20 minutes for the film to be developed. This was the longest I have ever waited for 2 X-ray films to be developed there. Because of that, I was late for the appointment and had to wait for some time before I was allowed to see the doctor.
The doctor was quite a disappointment although he was the same person to see me last year. One of the first things he did was to get me a medical certificate exempting me from all physical activities. Is that necessary at all? Given my current condition, I can still walk, run, jump, hop, cycle, swim and do anything another person can do. If I have to strictly observe the medical certificate, I would rather be dead. How can I ever live a day without running about? Even when I am sick, I enjoy running about. Maybe it is because he has forgotten my condition since the last time he saw me was last year but I feel that the situation would be slightly different if the hospital staff had given him my past X-rays. I seriously do not think that there is a growth in the fibrous thing in my leg. If he had seen the past few X-rays and asked me whether I have difficulties while doing physical activities, I would definitely believe that the exemption was totally unnecessary. Also because of that, my next appointment will be in 6 months time instead of 12 months. Can't they have kept my folder properly? It was the staff who postponed my appointment and they should be responsible for bringing out my folder today so that the doctor could compare the X-rays. I am quite disgusted that this was not done.
Anyway, after leaving the hospital, the band was already starting on the rope game when I arrived in school. I did not want to join them under the sun and sweat at first, but in the end, I joined them. It was quite fun trying to avoid being hit by the rope as it goes round and round. After that was lunch followed by the curtain game, balloon bursting and the starch game. All thanks to Andrew who dirtied my clothes, I decided to jump in and join in the fun. I even forgot that I had my handphone in my pocket and it landed on the starch when I was struggling to free myself from the people who were trying to pin me down.
After that was cleaning up. It really took up quite some time as most of the people left straight after the starch game, leaving only a handful of us to clean up. It was quite fun on the whole. After cleaning up and drying ourselves, we went to the food court at Tampines Mall to have dinner. The claypot noodles was very delicious but the only thing bad about it is that the amount of noodles is too little to fulfill my hunger. I had to buy another plate of fried carrot cake and eat some left over porridge which was extremely salty because Baoying added a little too much soy sauce to it to satisfy my hunger.
We left the food court just before 10pm and went home. The moment I reached home, I had to turn on the computer to reply an important email that I had to reply by tonight. I spent around half an hour replying the email before taking my bath that I have been waiting for for a very long time.
I have already spent half an hour typing this entry and I think I should stop here. I still have lots of holiday homework to complete and my eyelids are already getting very heavy.
Once again, I would like to ask for all of you who are free this Sunday to come down to the covered walkway at Tampines interchange, where the MRT tracks are to support me. I'll be there from 10am - 5pm. Come down to find out what is going on. Thank you.
This morning there was the rehearsal for founder's day. I shall not talk bad about Mrs Goh here. The rehearsal was not very good. Anyway, there was quite a great improvement after we practiced a few times. How I wish that this can happen every time, then we will be always improving by a lot.
Euro 2004 will finally be aired on channel 5 early tomorrow morning but I'm not sure if I'll be watching it or not. I have planned to continue on my holiday homework last night but I ended up doing something else instead. At least I have managed to complete a few questions during tuition today. I am still left with three-quarters of my e maths homework, a quarter of my additional mathematics homework, all my social studies homework and my music homework.
I went to take the mathematics paper 1 at Mavis Tutorial Centre this afternoon and I think it is a lot easier than the previous one I took. Hopefully I can get an a1 back. After the paper, I went home before going to the barber to get a haircut only to find the shop closed. A wasted trip.
Anyway, please remember to go down to Tampines interchange this Sunday, any time from 10am to 5pm to support me. Thanks.
Band today was interesting. The junior band is starting to find its way into main band and the clarinet section's playing is improving by quite a bit. I hope that with me saying all these, their standard will not drop.
I guess this will be enough for today.
I had to go to school early this morning again. Again, it is for Chemistry and Physics lesson. After that, there was this D&T day camp. The camp was rather boring on the whole, but there was free food to compensate for the boredom. Anyway, the food wasn't that great. I think they paid over $400 for the food and the food was not worth a single bit the price.
I had totally forgotten about the camp till I was reminded about it on Sunday night, and I had actually arranged for my tuition lesson to be on this afternoon with my tutor on Saturday. I always make a mess out of things when I forget I have something on.
I received some good news just as the day camp ended today. I have been made it through the interview I had the other day, and I am now a finalist. In case I wasn't clear enough on what the interview was about, it is an interview with 3 judges, and the judges will decide whether my invention is good enough to be chosen for the Mayor's InnoBiz Award. Now that I am through, I will have to go through a round of voting from the public. I am not sure which Sunday the voting will be held on, but it will be at Tampines interchange, under the MRT tracks where the new shops are. Please come and support me.
There was the dissection of frog at Mavis tutorial centre today. Previously, it was the dissection of a rabbit. The frog dissection is quite okay except for the killing of the frog. The person who did the dissection poked a pair of scissors through the skull of the frog just in between the two eyes and started to destroy its brain. If you looked at the way the frog was struggling, I think you would not want to see it being killed. After that, everything was a little better. The cut-opened frog was passed around the class on a styrofoam board and when it reached me, I almost freaked out. I was among the last few of a class of about 50 people to handle the frog and its legs could still move. It is like a person lying on the floor, pinned down but moves his legs in such a way that he rests on his back but lifts his stomach up. I was so afraid that the pins holding the frog down would pop out and the frog would roll off the board and onto me. After the session, I would think twice before eating frog legs.
I bet this entry is long enough to bore most of you out so I'll stop here.
I shall not write too much. One thing to take note, the performance on 17th July has been postponed till 24th July, 7 to 9 pm, and we will be the first band performing. They have also invited the percussion section from Saint Anthony's and the band from Bedok Green Secondary (maybe it is Bedok South or Bedok View or something that starts with Bedok, I cannot remember).
I think I will be very busy this week.
I have extra lessons on Monday and Tuesday that lasts the whole morning for 2 days. I don't think I will have the time to complete everything unless I forgo some of the things I prefer doing such as spending the whole night online.
Band practice will be from 12-5pm tomorrow, and it would be the same for Wednesday. I'm still wondering if the people who ordered the CD would bring their money and pay up tomorrow. I think Mr Chua would be quite angry if we still do not pay up. The CDs came on Friday, and I think he has paid for them way before Friday.
I'm having a headache now. It does not feel too good. Luckily I do not normally have headaches. I would not be able to survive with that.
I went to play soccer this afternoon after my tuition lesson. It is a little crazy to play soccer in the hot sun at 3 in the afternoon, when the sky is so clear that not a single cloud could be seen in the whole sky. Now I realise that I have become even darker; two mornings standing in the sun plus one afternoon playing in the sun. Hopefully my face is evenly tanned.
I'm feeling a little tired right now. I think I would go to sleep after watching the show on channel 5.
I had lunch after that and went for tuition. When I reached there, my tutor told me that he had just finished his last class and was about to leave. It turned out that I was supposed to go for lessons last Thursday but I have totally forgotten about that. Anyway, he offered to send me home in his car. It would be a once in a lifetime experience. How often do you get to ride in a Porshe?
That's about all that is interesting that happened today.
Pray that tomorrow will be more interesting and fun.
Today band was quite fine, but something really surprised me. I bet I was not the only person surprised. I do not feel like talking about it now. Anyway, the collection of money for the Decinnium CD still has no progress at all.
I am really in no mood to continue typing. Maybe I'll continue tomorrow.

Going back to yesterday, band practice went on quite smoothly. Mrs Chua finally seems a little less cold to the band, and the band is playing a little better. I am still not quite happy with the attendance because it reflects badly on the band. I believe that there are a few people I have not seen since the holidays started.
After band, I was supposed to go for a rehearsal for today's interview till around 3pm, but Mr Kwang was so kind as to let me off after speaking to me for less than 3 minutes. This is one of the very few times he is so good towards me.
After that, Hong Wei, Jun Long, Huai Ping and I went to Silas' house before walking from his place to the chalet, which was quite a long walk away. We then waited for Qixin and Lee Hui to come before walking all the way to somewhere near McDonald's to rent bicycles. We did not cycle for half an hour before some of us turned back to bring Yee En and Gui Dan over. When we got to the bicycle shop again, the girls exchanged their bicycles for double bicycles, which I ended up riding because they did not know how to ride it. That was my first time on a double bicycle. It is a little harder to steer and a lot harder to balance, especially when the person at the back does not lean towards the turn.
After cycling for quite some time, we went back to the chalet unit and watched television while the rest of them played mahjong. We went for dinner at 8pm but it ended up with the guys returning the double bicycles and the girls ordering take-away because bicycles were not allowed in the hawker centre. I had to go to Victoria School to bring Xiao Feng to the chalet and we ended up waiting for more than 10 minutes for the rest to reach.
After that was dinner and a short photo-taking session. I shall try to publish the photos here if I have the time. After catching World Idol, the guys went cycling again while I stayed in the chalet unit alone. I did not want to go with them because I had to catch some sleep because I had a interview this morning. They came back only around 3am. I did not really remember what happened after that because I was drifting in and out of sleep.
The interview today seemed quite a success to me. Everything went on rather smoothly and very quickly. The panel of judges were also very warm, asking some questions that were totally irrelevant to what they were supposed to ask just to liven things up. Hopefully, my group will be shortlist for the finals.
As for now, I would like to have a good sleep.
As for today, nothing much happened. I went to school at 9am and reached school at around 9.45am. The store room windows were not opened so I thought that band room was still closed, and I went to the D&T studio and Mr Kwang wasted one whole hour of my time.
After self practice, I was forced to watch Mean Girls with Andrew, Jennifer, Xinting and Wen Jia but we ended up watching the Jack Neo show because the former was still not out yet. The show is quite nice but lasted for only slightly less than 2 hours.
William Hung is coming to Singapore to perform. I just heard this from the news on channel 8. 12th September. I wonder if anyone would pay to go for his performance. He destroys every song he sings.
I'll stop here for today and blog again on Friday night.
I finally spent an hour practising my piano this evening. Although it was only for one hour, it is one of the longest I have ever practiced since I started piano lessons. I did not do much anyway, I only practiced some of my scales and worked on part of my first two examination pieces.
Tomorrow I will be going back to band room for self practice. I am finally beginning to enjoy what I am playing. I sight-read "Whenever Wherever" and got it mostly right, and I think I was the only one who got the funny semi-quaver part correct.
I think I will continue to blog tomorrow. I really do not have the mood to do anything now.
Why can't channel 5 air more of the Euro 2004 matches?
I will start on my holiday homework this Wednesday since I will be having tuition tomorrow afternoon and I might be going for a chalet on Tuesday. Actually I'm quite eager to start on my holiday homework, unlike the previous years. Maybe there is this thing in me telling me that this would be the last holiday homework I am going to have in secondary school.
I have also realised that I have forgotten a lot of things, and some of them are due quite some time ago. It is only when the people around me bring up something related to it that I remember I have not done it. I still have not improved my memory yet; I'm still just as forgetful.
I'm not really in the mood to blog right now. I just can't wait for tomorrow to come. I think I miss band.
Piano lesson today was quite a bad experience. I made more mistakes than what I usually make and I could not even play the scales correctly even though I have practiced it today. I guess practice makes perfect and I have not had enough of it yet. If I can do that in just one practice, I won't have to practice or prepare for the examinations any longer. That would mean practicing just once through on the day before the examinations.
I had tuition after that. I did only around 5 mathematics questions in the 2 hours I spent there. I guess I wasn't in the mood to work at that time and I was trying to waste the 2 hours doing as little as I can. I hope I can pull myself together and start on my holiday homework tomorrow. I have quite a bit of homework to complete. There's Additional Mathematics, Mathematics, English, Social Studies and Music. If I do not start on it soon, I would have a lot to complete.
After my tuition, my family went to Cineleisure to have dinner before going to Robinson at Centrepoint to buy some health supplements. We did not take too long doing that. We spent only an hour eating and buying the things.
Now I'm watching a show on channel 5 on some army training. I think that it is very interesting. Maybe I will look forward to getting into NS.
Band wasn't that great today. It did start off rather fine, but it got worse as time passed. Firstly, I remembered Mr Chua saying that both he and Mrs Chua would be here at around 9am, so he wants us to do some warming up before they come, but when he came today, he sounded quite angry because the main band was working out on some piece after warming up. He said that he wanted the junior band in the band room.
Things got a little better after that, but I think some people have succeeded making Mrs Chua angry. I'm glad that she reprimanded the band for talking every time she stops because it was quite effective in keeping the people quiet. I hope that they will remember this and not be so noisy the next time somebody is up there conducting.
I finally have some people to give some of my responsibility to. Now two of the sec 3s will be in-charge of band, and these 2 people will be rotated till the end of the June holidays. Hopefully by then, I would be able to find the suitable people for the next committee so that the current sec 4s can hand over the band to them. They will need some time to get used to leading the band, to gain respect, and most importantly, bring the band through next year's SYF.
I think I have said enough for today.
I will be going to sleep soon.
After band I got scratched in the eye while playing basketball and now I have blurred vision in my right eye. It is exactly like having my whole eye filled with tears and looking at things although my eye is perfectly dry. I hope this will not last for long and I certainly do not wish to have this blurred vision with me for life.
After that, there was a game of captain's ball, before I went to Bedok Polyclinic to get my eye checked. I hope that what the doctor said is true, that the redness in the eye is due to the impact, but at that point of time, I did not realise that I had blurring of vision. I hope that this is also due to the impact.
I will have sectional tomorrow at 9am. I wonder who will turn up and how it would be like. It has been very different for the last two sectionals. Monday's one with the additional 2 people was so much more difficult but today's one is quite productive.
I will sleep early tonight so that my eye might heal faster.
If you have any comments, please feel free to leave it under this entry or at the tagboard. Thanks!
All because of some people, I had to wake up at 7.45am this morning so that I could be in school by 9am to open the band room for them to have self-practice, but nobody turned up till at least 10am and I ended up practicing more than any one of them. I'm not angry because they make the effort to come back to school and at least play their instruments. I'm quite happy that I managed to complete half of the 2-page exercise from the Klose book.
After that I went home and had cup noodles for lunch for the second time this week. I am getting sick of it, but it is the only thing I can find that does not require me to do any cooking or preparation; just add hot water and boot the computer up as I wait for it to be ready. I ought to get some proper lunch tomorrow.
Again, I took a nap in the afternoon from around 3pm to 5pm. I suppose that is the best thing to do since most of the people are not online during the afternoon, and I can sleep a little later because I took a nap. At least sleeping is not something that would bore me out since I don't know what is happening when I'm asleep, or at least, do not realise the passing of time.
I went to Mavis for Mathematics tuition and reached there at 7pm when the lesson only started at 7.45pm. I thought that the lesson was supposed to start at 7.15pm. Anyway, all of us in Mr Ng's class will have to go for a test covering most of the topics that lasts for two and a half hours by this Sunday. I wonder where I would find the time for this.
I'm getting bored again.
I feel that it is very fun to take a small section for sectional. I guess that taking a section with about 6 people is much easier than to take a section with over 20 people and with half of them talking more than the music they play. Actually teaching is not that difficult, especially when you see the people trying, and willing to learn. It might be a slow process, but at least there is a difference and an improvement.
We did not do much today, apart from going through parts of the Lion King with Mr Chua. I think he is not very happy with the attendance. He even suggested we cancel Wednesday's practice. I would rather think of the happier things.
After band, I did not do much. I went home and took a nap before going for tuition, where I spent 2 hours doing only 80 multiple choice questions. I went back home and watched part of the second part of Harry Potter.
I am still waiting to be contacted for the delivery of the new computer. I can't wait any longer.
If there are any band people reading this, if you would like to place an order for the CD "Decennium", please let me know. It consists of 2 CDs and contains Xenia Sarda and many other pieces by Hardy Mertens. It is selling for only about $18. People from Ngee Ann and Hai Sing has placed quite a number of orders with Mr Chua. The price might be reduced further if he orders in bulk, and we will be playing that for the concert this year. It is highly recommended that you buy your own CD or share it with your friends or section.
After my lesson, I went home only to find my house empty. My parents came back about an hour after I reached home and soon left for the library. As I did not want to be left alone at home, I went with them, only to wait in the car listening to a talk-show on tips for 'O' Level Chinese orals. At least waiting in the car listening to the radio is a much better option than sitting in front of the computer for another hour.
I helped to mop the floor once again, after being nagged at by my father for more than an hour. This is what I get for volunteering to mop the floor. I don't understand why he wants the floor to be mopped before I do anything else.
I did nothing much after that, spending most of my time in front of the computer, other than watching part one of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's stone. I think I caught the movie last year but I can barely recall some parts only when I saw it again. It is either my memory failing me or I did not catch it at all. I think it is the former.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's band practice. I hope that it will be very productive and there would be less of those unwanted things that happened last Friday. I guess I have spent almost half of my time awake on the computer already and it is time to switch it off. Machines do need breaks.
Now I shall try to figure out a way to convince my parents to get the wireless home surfing system from Singnet.
I thought that my father would at most settle for a mid-range desktop computer if he was going to get something, but he surprised me by looking out for notebooks. He bought a notebook from Dell costing $2299. I think that it was one of the best deals at the PC show. The others with almost the same configurations cost at least a few hundred dollars more.
After spending about 2 hours at the PC show, we walked to hall 4 to the Metro sale. On my way out of hall 6, I saw Ms Lim with her husband. I shall not describe my encounter here. We grabbed a few items and then headed back to the car. At that time, I was already very tired from all the standing and walking. I thought we were going home already but my family decided to go to Tampines for dinner. We went to the food court at Tampines Mall for dinner before going to the Converse shop to buy my school shoes. A crowd gathered around one of the shops so we went to take a look. A crew from channel 8 was filming for one of their variety programmes. The actors had to go through the same things over and over again. I wonder why they do not get bored, repeating the same things over and over again. My sister then went to Century square to look at some Nokia handphones. We went back to Tampines Mall again and there was this performance put up by Kids Central. We all went back to Century Square again to look at some mattresses but ended up not buying because there was a delivery charge. We then went back for the last time to Tampines Mall to buy some things from NTUC before going home.
I think my father is very generous, but this is not always the case. I'm so lucky that he is in his generous mood today. I can't wait for the new computer to be delivered.
Came home more than an hour ago from the guitar concert. The concert was quite enjoyable but I think there is lots of room for improvement. They can play more together because their conductor actually subdivides for them and conduct almost every note they play. Another thing is that the tempo for all the pieces and songs they played is all more or less the same. Fast pieces are slowed down and slow pieces are speeded up. There is also too little visual pleasure from watching the concert. Other than the conductor, almost nothing else is moving other than some tapping feets and the strumming and plucking and changing of fingers. Okay, I shouldn't be saying so much.
My father has not made up his mind whether to get a new computer for me or not. He asked me to look out for one but he did not give a definite answer when I asked him about it before he went to sleep. Anyway, if I were to get a new computer, I would most likely get it form the IT fair held at the Singapore Expo tomorrow afternoon. I guess the whole place would be packed.
I had a wonderful dream last night but I cannot really remember what I had dreamt of. Hopefully I can have a equally wonderful dream as well, tonight.
I had very much wanted to drop by at the Singapore Expo today to take a look at the IT fair but I just couldn't find a single person available, so I ended up going home and sitting in front of the computer again.
After that, I went for Mavis tuition and found out that the lesson was a repeat of the previous Sunday's lesson. How great, now I still have to attend this Sunday's lesson.
Anyway, I was forced to get out of bed at 10am and it spoiled my plan of sleeping till as late as I can so that I would have less time to spend doing nothing. I'm getting tired of my computer. It always needs to be restarted and I can hardly do anything on it. Maybe it is about time to get a new computer.
Tomorrow I will have to go to school again. How boring. Hopefully I can find something to do after school.
I was supposed to go somewhere this evening but somehow I couldn't contact Ginny and I ended up staying at home. Tomorrow will be a long, long day. They should be a little cleverer by starting the PC fair at the Singapore Expo tomorrow instead of on Thursday.
Maybe I can start hoping for a new computer that is fast enough for me to do what I want and powerful enough to do as many things as I want to.
I guess this is enough for today.
