National Band Competition coming up next Saturday. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to it. The band seems rather unprepared and to think that some of us expect to emerge the top of the open division, I really wonder if they realise how sub-standard our playing as a band is. Our concert is one day after the competition and I don't think we are any bit more prepared for it than the competition. I really hope we can put up a good concert though. Shuichi Komiyama will be guest conducting us and I hope that he can create a miracle.

School restarts tomorrow. I haven't really caught up with all the tutorials and assignments yet. I can't believe that I still have economics homework assigned to me the day after my mid year examination. Don't we deserve a break after studying endlessly for the examinations? I don't intend to touch it since I have no idea where my ten year series is. Probably I'll attempt the assignment if I get bored to death later. Seems like the only thing I can look forward to is national day where we get 6 days off. Then there will also be a beautiful Sunday concert at Esplanade on 13th August.

I'm getting a little frightened now, since I have not started work on all three of my exam pieces and my scales. In fact, I have only been doing serious work on only 1 of the three pieces. I better find some time to work on all the remaining things soon. My examination will probably be next month and I hope that it will be as late as possible so that I can have more time to prepare. If only there were 48 hours to a day.
