Almost a month of 2007 has passed. So far the bad patch has still not worn off. Tonnes and tonnes of things are going the way they shouldn't go. Take this for example, you take a piece of paper to photocopy and it when the paper goes into the machine, it gets shredded up instead. If this is not understandable enough, maybe this other example will work. You open up a can of coke and the tab breaks off but the can remains unopened. When you finally manage to force open the can, the contents spurt out like an erupting volcano.
Last Saturday night was a nice night, though not everything was right. I don't think I want to hope for the same things to happen again, though some of the things that happened, I really wish would happen again and again.
I'm exhausted. Mus'art concert is on the third of February. It's going to be a combined concert with quite a few secondary schools (playing their choice pieces for the SYF). I need to practice. I am tired.
I do not know what else to say. So many things have not been what it used to be. It is really depressing that while everyone seems to be celebrating and enjoying the arrival of 2007, I am living my worst nightmare. I don't know how much longer this will last but I hope that I will last longer than this series of unpleasant events.
I hope that the first day of school had been enjoyable, or at least interesting for those who have to attend school. I am terribly missing 2 essentials.
I think I shall start with a brief overview of 2006. I can say that 2006 has been a rather eventful year. School started off rather smoothly but my grades weren't improving at all. Anyway, the only things I can remember about that time was that quite a number of year 1s kept skipping orientation to stay in the band room. I wonder what they were doing in the band room. Not too long later we were preparing for the Pacific Basin Music Festival. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Forms and stuff kept on coming in, and a few people decided to leave VJ. I remember even having to stay up the night before Chinese New Year to upload the forms but it all paid off when we struck Gold in Hawaii.
Hawaii, I suppose was one of the times I had enjoyed myself the most. We also were lucky enough to get a day tour in Korea where I remembered not being able to eat ice cream (but I did try a bit) so that I can recover from the flu I was having. In Hawaii, I think I spent quite a lot of time in Bus A (BUSA). I wonder if anyone can still remember the Bus A cheer. When we visited Pearl Harbour, it was raining but the rain stopped just as we were about to leave. I remember lunch was quite horrible and a lot of us wasted quite a lot of food away. We were told to take a nap I believe, because the next day was the judging day. It was one of the first times the rain stopped and the beach looked so beautiful. Anyway, I finally managed to go to the beach on the night of the second last day in Hawaii and on the last morning in Hawaii. Some really nice memories, apart from the waves that were splashing quite scarily.
After that was Majestia and then chalet. Chalet was also quite a night to remember. After chalet was a time of uncertainty but eventually, it turned out fine, very fine indeed. I also remembering going to NUS once. It was quite fun. Then the holidays ended and school restarted. Then there was the prelims. It was quite a nightmare and I really did not know how I ever managed during the short September holidays to do up to 2 full past year papers in a day. I think that was multiple choice questions plus structured questions plus essay questions. Then A levels came and went. I don't wish to talk more about it because I think I will not be able to get the kind of results that most people will be getting. I hope I did make the right choice not studying for economics.
I remembered teaching for some time before having to go overseas on an assignment. Well, that was about all that happened that I can share. The rest are either private or have been forgotten because of my poor memory. Of course a lot of other things I did not write because they were already mentioned in previous posts.
2007 did not really start well. I hope things will get better as time passes. Anyway, I was so bored stuck at home that I cycled all the way to Kallang before turning back because it looked as if it were going to rain again.
Happy 2007 once again.
